Honda GX390 with electric starter (often identified by the letters QXE or VXE in the crankshaft type variations) adds significant user comfort while maintaining the same performance.

Differences compared to the manual model

The electric starter: A 12-Volt electric motor block with its solenoid relay is mounted at the rear of the cylinder to automatically drive the flywheel ring gear.

The control box: The engine is equipped with a key ignition box (like in a car) with the positions Off, On, and Start.

The integrated charging coil: This version includes an internal alternator (generally ranging from 1 A to 18 A depending on the chosen configuration) connected to a regulator/rectifier.

This system allows the 12V external battery to be recharged while the engine is running. Dual system: The presence of the electric starter does not eliminate the manual starter.

The recoil cord (the black handle) remains present to allow for a backup start if the battery is dead.

Specific usage instructions

Duration of activation: The electric starter should never be operated for more than 5 seconds in a row. If the engine does not start, wait at least 10 seconds to avoid overheating and damaging the starter.
